Welcome to Moultonborough Central School

A Message from Superintendent Patrick Andrew  June 16, 2020

Thank you all so much for your cooperation, understanding, patience and hard work during this difficult experience of remote instruction. It has certainly been a challenge but the extraordinary kindness shown by so many has made the journey easier. As we look to the fall 2020 opening of school there are still many unanswered questions. We currently have nine sub committees working on protocols for returning to school in September.

As soon as there are firm plans for how school will resume in September, I will share those plans with faculty, staff, students and parents. At present, we are awaiting guidance from the Governor's task force on reopening schools, which will make its recommendations in mid July. From those guidelines we will develop a plan that makes sense for Moultonborough Schools and will share the details of the plan with faculty, staff, students, parents and community members.

I know we are all anxious to know what the fall will look like for schools but we simply do not have enough data to make final decision at this time. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we plan for a successful 2020-2021 school year.

Best wishes for a safe and restful summer.

Message from Superintendent Patrick Andrew, June 9, 2020

Dear Moultonborough community Members,

The recent killing of George Floyd, the ensuing widespread riots and protests may leave children with many questions and emotions.  These issues can be difficult to discuss with children in an age appropriate manner. The Moultonborough School  and Community Charter has five pillars: Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, Compassion and Moral Courage.  I want to make clear, both personally and on behalf of Moultonborough Schools, that we will do all we can as a school system to uphold these ideals. We will address them directly in our educational programs, and in our engagement with students and families, working for a world that is equitable and kind; where people do not have to fear for their lives because of the color of their skin; and where everyone has the same opportunities to grow, thrive and enjoy their lives. Here is a link to our website where school staff will be posting educational resources over the next couple of days that may help you in discussing these issues with your child.            http://www.sau45.org/departments/curriculum_coordinator/equity_and_social_justice_resources

End of School IPad Collection:

Due to distance learning and recommendations from the Department of Education, we will only collect iPads from the following students: graduating seniors and incoming 7th grade students. Everyone returning to the Moultonborough School District in September should examine their device for damage, cracks, or other issues, and notify the Tech Department if they find anything. Otherwise, they can keep their devices over the summer.

Principals Principal Kathleen D'Haene and Joe Lane welcome you to Moultonborough Central School.

Ms. D'Haene is the principal for grades from PreK to 4th grade and Mr. Lane is principal for grades 5 & 6 as part of the District's Middle Level program that includes grades 7 & 8 at Moultonborough Academy.

The school offers full day kindergarten in which the students are able to ride the bus to and from school including lunch. The school also offers an universal preschool program for all 3 and 4 year olds living in Moultonborough.

Our school includes special education case managers, a reading specialist and trained staff support as well as full time registered nurse, guidance counselor, library media specialist, and technology support technician.

Moultonborough Central School and Moultonborough Academy share the services of a school psychologist, social worker, technology director, speech and language pathologist, occupational therapist, curriculum coordinator and special education director.
