Navigating Schoology & Grade Portal

Below are directions for setting up your parent accounts for the Powerschool Grade Portal and Schoology. Please set these up now to assist you in monitoring your childís performance in school. Contact the guidance office for username and passwords. If you already have a Grade Portal and Schoology account, review the below on the best ways to use Schoology and Grade Portal

How to use the Grade Portal:


Type “” (MA website) in the browser URL.

Click on “Grade Portal” listed under “Student Links” in the left hand column.

Type in username and password. Your user name is your email address.

Best uses for the Grade Portal:

To check your childís grades. Click on “Grade History” in the left hand column. You can see the real-time grade for each class listed under the current quarter. The “Y1” grade is the cumulative average for the class so far. Class grades will not reflect assignments that have not yet been entered by the teacher.

You can also check attendance, school announcements, and other information listed in the left column.

You can have your childís grades periodically emailed to you. Click on “Email Notifications” in the left column. You will see options for having grades sent directly to you in email format. I suggest weekly emails.

If you have more than one child at MA, you can set up your account to view both.

How to use Schoology:


Go to in your browserís URL.

Click on “log-in” at the top of the page.

Type in your username and password. Your username is your email address.

Go to your account settings if you would like to change your password.

Best uses for Schoology

To monitor your childís assignments and homework: Click on “Calendar” in the left hand column. This will show you when assignments are due for all classes.

Best uses for the Grade Portal

To monitor school news and announcements: The activity feed on the Home Page displays announcements from teachers, club advisors, and the main office.

Best uses for the Grade Portal

If you have more than one child at MA, you can toggle between the two by selecting their name on the drop down menu in the top bar.

You can see activity for each class by selecting the class under “courses” on the top bar. All data displayed will be from the course you selected.

Students and parents have separate accounts for both applications.
